Hubballi’ first green mobility corridor project under the Smart City initiative has come to an end. This green corridor project is expected to complete by March. The project estimated price initiated was Rs.130 Crore, which began in 2020 with aim to rejuvenate the Rajakaluve from Unkal Lake to Gabbur cross areas, with keeping sanitation in mind.
This project undergoes with 2.5 meter wide walking path for pedestrians and 2.5 meter wide path for cycling have built on the both the sides. Meditation area along with open gym and a park have been built in the middle area of the corridor. A bridge for pedestrians have been built which connects two sides of the road and a systematic cycle parking lot areas have been built in vision of the smart city.
In this context Dr.Rudresh Gali, Commissioner of Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation expresses, the Central Government ambitious to initiate CITIIS 2.0 project, which aims to develop the areas of the Unkal Nala which expands up to 11kms and avoid the diseases which come from sewage water. This project has separate arrangements of rain water and sewage waters. Some of the work has accomplished, cycle tracks and electric lights have been installed, which can be used at night hours.
